Jack in a Box: Surprise it took this long...

Some Human Rights group has a problem with the popular interrogation scenes on '24'

Of course this group has no comment on terrorists sticking a drill bit in a CTU employee's shoulder.

Oh yeah, Why do the terrorists have to be Muslim?

I'm getting a little sick of this and the inability of people to understand the existence of evil in the world towards America that was proven to exist just over five years ago. Here's hoping next season Jack takes these hippies to task.

Of course MSNBC will do a segment on how evil '24' is every chance they get. They might as well say "watch Heroes on NBC where all the bad guys are white!"

Baked Beans: The Beanpot

The 55th Beanpot concluded last night when Boston University beat Boston College 2-1.

The Beanpot (a four team tournament between Boston's four college hockey teams, Boston College (BC), Boston University (BU), Harvard, and Northeastern) is a unique event because 1) Few cities have four colleges with Division 1 sports programs and 2) Few sports provide an opportunity for small, academic colleges like Harvard to compete with larger athletic budget schools like BC. You couldn't have a college basketball tournament between St. John's, Columbia, Manhattan and Fordham. For one, nobody would care and in the 80's St. John's would've blown every team out.

Recently The Beanpot has become more of a joke to Boston sports fans. Mainly because it starts the day after the Super Bowl (three out of five years, some smartass has called WEEI saying "Enough about this football game, I'd like to talk about The Beanpot!") and its also seen as just a reason for the priviledged youth of Boston's colleges to drink their asses off in the bars surrounding the Boston Garden/Shawmut Center/Fleet Center/TD Banknorth Garden.

As is, The Beanpot isn't even that competitive. Boston University usually beats Boston College in the final every single year. As happened this year, BU won it's 28th title last night.

Baked Beans: Daisuke's Here

From time to time, I will discuss Boston sports, not exclusively the Red Sox but anything relative to the Boston sports scene which is unique and one that I am blessed to live in. The title of these posts will be "Baked Beans". A reference to outsiders' name for Boston "Beantown". Reference "Beantown" in Boston and you'll get the same look San Franciscans give you when you say "Frisco" or New Yorkers give you when you ask where to go in "The Big Apple".

Apparently needs to work off a few Sapporos

He may be the Red Sox' newest ace pitcher. He may be a running punchline which will be painfully funny. In either case, Daisuke Matsuzaka has reported to Spring Training.

Over 200 Rappers Can't be Wrong...

And they're not.

I passed on The Grammys last night and instead watched an HD-remastered airing of Scarface on Cinemax. While I had put this off forever because quite frankly, the constant references in hip-hop and MTV's Cribs built up a resolve in me to NOT watch this movie, I thoroughly enjoyed it as much as any great Crime Drama, if not more so.

Without giving away too much for those who still haven't seen it, in case I wasn't the last one, Al Pacino plays Tony Montana who arrives in the US via Cuba in an arranged boatlift of undesirable Cubans to America. Along with his partner Manny, they go from doing political assasinations of Cuban Communists, to low-level buys which of course go bad and lead to Tony walking with the cash and the "yeyo", to brokering arrangements between high-level drug lords in the US and Bolivia, to a near billion dollar corporation.

The movie ends with the infamous "say hello to my little friend" scene which has been mentioned several times. One of the few times I watched a movie, knowing what was coming and being blown away still. Other notes.

-I had no idea Robert Loggia and Michelle Phifer were in this movie, and frankly I could've done without either's performance.

-I thought Scott Hall's 90's WWF character Razor Ramon was loosely based on this movie. I now know it was an all-out ripoff. From his catchphrase to his finishing move, everything is in the script of this movie. I'm surprised he didn't call the Intercontinental Championship belt "The Yeyo".

-Speaking of "Yeyo", I now know the origin of the name "Tony Yeyo", and about half of every reference in hip-hop songs.

-"Yeyo" is my new favorite word.

-One reference not in hip-hop is that of the band Blink-182, who get their name from the amount of times Tony Montana says the F-word in this movie. In case you're wondering, Scarface isn't even close to the most F-words in a movie. The Departed had more. Here's the List. #1 is either a surprise or not a surprise.

Survey says...ripoff!

Because its MY Blog

Carrie Underwood won a Grammy, have no idea which one or what song it was for, but it gives me a reason to post pictures of Carrie Underwood, which I will take advantage of every time.

Is she wearing 'Grammy Panties'?

I'm not asking my boyfriend to hold THIS for me

Meet Pizza Parlor Enrique!

I understand as much as I hate steroids talk and Hall of Fame talk, that recruiting talk is a sore subject among even the most die-hard fans. Understandable because there's no way to project how someone's four years of college are going to pan out and there have been so many "blue-chip busts" more so than First Round busts in the NFL. To many most recruits are just names to wake them up with when they're starting in their Junior year.

In order to prove or disprove the theory of a "can't miss, Blue Chip" prospect. I have decided to pick one recruit from this year's class and follow his entire career until he has retired from pro football or I end this blog to begin responsible duties like marriage and family (at this point its a toss up as to what will come first).

So I am introducing you to Running Back Enrique Davis. Davis went to Mosley High School in Lynn Haven, FL, located on the Florida Panhandle, near Panama City. He has signed a Letter of Intent to play for Auburn University.

He's 5'11" 212, runs a 4.39 40, and bench presses 225 25 times, so if everything goes to plan, we're talking about an NFL prospect. Plus he's going to Auburn and not USC or Notre Dame. He is a guarantee to be taking Sociology for his major.

Keep checking The Pizza Parlor to follow the career of Pizza Parlor Enrique!
