A few things that would save Syracuse football

-Blow up the Dome: I hate that place everytime I walk through it I look for a shopping cart and a lady in front of a microwave on a table giving out samples of Mini-Bagel Pizzas. The "big" screens they put in last year were the only thing they've done to that building since it opened. The only thing keeping it is the BJ the NCAA gives us every two years called the NCAA East Regionals. It's too small for football, too big for basketball and a miserable place to watch fun sports, just like Syracuse, New York was a miserable place to go to a fun school.

-Fire Coach Pasqualoni: This is all but done. They need to hire a Stoops or if Bill Callahan is doing well do away with the option offense and open yourself to a big name coach or if you keep the option offense hire Frank Solich. Pasqualoni will not be back next year. I am not worried about this.

-Free Student Tickets: Student support is awful and mainly because SU is one of few schools that charge students for tickets. Then they ban everything fun about the student experience. Makes no sense.

-Leave the Big East in football: Don't join the Big Ten or ACC as the Big East will be the best basketball conference ever and you want to keep that relationship for all other sports. But no one is going to come out to see Rutgers, Temple, and UConn, not even when your team is good. If SU became an independent, it could possible have a TV deal like Notre Dame's (the slide in the two programs is eerily similar) EVENTUALLY. An Independent schedule could include rivals like Penn State, Miami, Va Tech, or Boston College, that are now prohibited by the Big East schedule. And the SU/Penn State rivalry needs to come back for both schools.

-Enhance the overall game experience. Another reason attendance slips is because going to an SU game just doesnt offer a whole lot besides the game. No traditional band songs besides the plain fight song, no slogan cheers like "Boomer Sooner" or "O-H/I-O", you can only say "Let's Go Orange" so many times. The Dance Team is very hot, start there and see what else you can come up with.

This summer Syracuse University uniformed their logo and nickname to try to establish a brand with its athletic teams. However they have done nothing to put an experience behind that brand and obviously the product on the football field is not cutting it. It's time for "SU" to awaken themselves to this and correct some very obvious problems.
